Psalm 27:4 says, “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord.”

Today, we do not have a physical temple in the same sense as Israel did, because God now dwells within us by His Spirit—we are His temples. Yet sadly, we often fail to do this one thing that David desired above all: to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord—to worship Him, adore Him, and glorify Him with undivided hearts.

We are busy with many good things: working, visiting others, preaching, serving, and helping. These are all valuable and God-honoring. But we often neglect the primary thing, the one thing that gives life and meaning to all the rest.

Let us return to this “one thing” first—seeking the Lord’s presence and beholding His beauty—so that all the other things we do may truly be for the glory of God.

కీర్తనలు 27:4 - యెహోవా యొద్ద ఒక్క వరము అడిగితిని దానిని నేను వెదకుచున్నాను. యెహోవా ప్రసన్నతను చూచుటకును ఆయన ఆలయములో ధ్యానించుటకును నా జీవితకాలమంతయు నేను యెహోవా మందిరములో నివసింప గోరుచున్నాను.

ఆనాడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు ఉన్నట్లుగా ఇప్పుడు మనకు ఆలయములు లేవు. ఎందుకంటే దేవుడు ఇప్పుడు తన ఆత్మ ద్వారా మనలో నివసిస్తున్నాడు. మన దేహాలే దేవుని ఆలయాలు అని 1 కొరిం 6:19 చెబుతుంది. అయితే విచారకరంగా, దావీదు అన్నింటికంటే ఎక్కువగా కోరుకున్న ఈ ఒక్క వరాన్ని లేదా కోరికను చేయడానికి మనం తరచుగా విఫలమవుతుంటాము : ప్రభువు యొక్క ప్రసన్నతను చూచుట అనగా ఆయనను ఆరాధించుట మరియు ఆయనను మహిమపరచుట.

మనం చాలా పనులు చేస్తుంటాము. మన పోషణ కోసం పని చేయడం, ఇతరులను సందర్శించడం, ప్రసంగించడం, సేవించడం మరియు సహాయము చేయడం. ఇవన్నీ మంచి పనులే మరియు దేవుడు ఆజ్ఞాపించినవే. కానీ మనము తరచుగా ఆయన ప్రసన్నతను అనుభవించి ఆయన్ను ఆరాధించే ఈ ప్రాధమిక విషయాన్ని నిర్లక్ష్యం చేస్తుంటాం. 

మొదటిగా ప్రభువు సన్నిధిని వెదకడం మరియు ఆయన సౌందర్యమును చూడడం అనే ఈ “ఒక్క విషయము” దగ్గరికి మనము తిరిగి రావాలి. ఆయన సన్నిధిలో సమయం గడిపి ఆయన్ను స్తుతిస్తూ మిగతా పనులు చేయడానికి ప్రోత్సాహం పొందుకోవాలి. అది మన ఆత్మీయ జీవితానికి క్షేమం, ప్రభువుకు మహిమ.

LGBTQ ఉద్యమానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా నిలబడి, సత్యం కోసం తన స్వరాన్ని వినిపించాడు. కానీ, చార్లీ కర్క్ సత్యం బోధించడాన్ని సహించలేక ఒక యువకుడు ఆయనను కాల్చి చంపాడు. మన ప్రభువైన యేసుక్రీస్తు విషయంలో కూడా ఇదే జరిగింది. ఆయన సత్య సువార్తను ప్రకటించినందుకే సిలువపై మరణించాల్సి వచ్చింది. తనన...

సంఘముతో నిబంధన

క్రైస్తవులు వివాహం చేసుకునే సమయంలో ఒకరితో ఒకరు ప్రమాణాలు చేస్తారు. బైబిల్లో ఈ విధంగా ప్రమాణాలు చేయాలని లేకపోయినప్పటికీ, వివాహం చాలా ప్రాముఖ్యమైనదని, ఇలా నిబంధన చేయడం ద్వారా దానిలోకి అడుగేయాలని సూచనగా ఈ ప్రమాణాలను క్రైస్తవులు చేస్తారు.  అయితే, క్రైస్తవులు రక్షించబడిన తర్వాత దేవుని కుటుంబమైన సంఘములో చేర్చబడటం, వివాహము కన్నా ప్రాముఖ్యమైనది. దేవుడు తన స్వరక్తమిచ్చి సంపాదించిన సంఘములో (అపోస్త 20:28) సభ్యులుగా ఉండడం ప్రతి క్రైస్తవుని బాధ్యతగా ఉంది. ఒక ప్రత్యేక సంఘానికి అంటుకట్టబడకుండా, సంఘానికి వేరుగా ఉండడం వాక్యానుసారమైన క్రైస్తవ్యం కాదు. అందుకే, సంఘములో చేర్చబడడం కూడా చాలా ప్రాముఖ్యమైన విషయం.  సరదాగా రెండు మూడు గంటల కార్యక్రమానికి వచ్చినట్టుగా సంఘానికి వచ్చే క్రైస్తవులు నేటి దినాల్లో చాలామంది ఉన్నారు. సంఘము పట్ల తీవ్రమైన ఆసక్తి, సంఘానికి నిబద్ధత కలిగి లేకపోతే క్రీస్తు సారూప్యంలో ఎదగడం కష్టమే. సంఘముతో నిబంధన చేసి, సంఘాన్ని ప్రేమిస్తూ, దేవుడు ఇచ్చిన వరాలను సంఘక్షేమాభివృద్ధికి ఉపయోగిస్తూ క్రీస్తు కొరకు జీవించే, క్రీస్తును ప్రకటించే క్రైస్తవులుగా ఉండటానికి మనం పిలవబడ్డాం. సం...

Joy of parenting

  Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Galatians, wrote, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law (Gal 5:22,23). A believer of Christ is called to bear the fruit of the Spirit, and one element in the fruit of the Spirit is joy. A follower of Christ is commanded to rejoice always (Phil 4:4). This joy of the Lord should be practiced in all areas of life.  One of the areas of practicing th is  Joy is in parenting. The writer of Proverbs says in Proverbs 23:24-25, “The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. Let your father and mother be glad; let her who bore you rejoice”. Parenting our children is an outflow of how God parents us, because He is our heavenly Father.
